Why work here

Small teams, real supervision,
and the bit nobody else says.

A fair read on the work. What you'll actually do, who you'll do it with, and what we don't pretend about. Take the page literally; none of it is here to flatter.

We're around eighty team members across children's residential, separated-children, disability and aftercare services. Sleeping hours paid at the full hourly rate. Rolling interviews, online or in person.

Small teams, consistent faces

Two to four team members on a shift across most services, same faces week to week so young people aren't relearning who's around them.

Supervision you can plan a year by

Monthly one-to-one, weekly team, reflective practice built into handovers. Protected, not a form filled in at year-end.

What we'll teach you

Our internal model of care, trauma-informed practice, CPI verbal and safety interventions, and the kind of one-to-one mentoring you don't get on a degree.

The bit nobody else says

The work is hard. The rota is real, on-call is real, and turnover happens. We're not going to pretend otherwise. We're here to be straight about it.

In their words

Three people already doing the job, in their own words.

Not written for us by an agency. A care worker and two managers, on what the work is actually like here.

I have been working in the Amiens Street service since January 2026 and have really enjoyed my time here. I enjoy working with the team and feel supported in my role. It has been a positive experience, and I'm grateful to be part of the Amiens Street team.
Nathaly

Residential Care Worker

I am the manager of the service in Amiens Street. My background lies in residential care, which I have chosen to remain in as working and supporting young people is always where I have found my motivation. Alongside its dynamic atmosphere, McCare is also a supportive, forward-thinking, innovative place to work.
Ruth

Centre Manager

After 7 years in social care, I've learned that no two days are ever the same and that's exactly why I love it. I have been a Manager with McCare for the past year and a half, where I have been involved in the opening of two residential services for young people. Throughout my time in McCare, I have seen young people grow, thrive and reach their goals through the support of the skilled and compassionate staff teams we have here within the company.

How hiring works

Send your CV,
not a six-week ordeal.

Rolling interviews, online or in person. You hear the outcome within two days. There's nothing impressive about a hiring process that drags.

  1. Send your CV

Email admin@mccare.ie with the role and the location you're interested in. A short cover note helps; a long one isn't expected.

  2. First Contact

After your CV is reviewed, we will contact you to set up an interview (Online/In Person). The interview typically takes 40 minutes and is a great opportunity for you to meet us and for us to learn more about your experiences and the goals you would like to achieve in your career.

  3. Onboarding

You will be notified of the interview outcome within 2 days, and if successful, you will receive your official job offer and this will include an onboarding pack and all necessary documentation and assistance.

  4. Induction & Start Date

Once the onboarding process has been successfully completed, an induction date will be provided where you can go to the house and meet the other team members you will work alongside and the individuals we support. Induction typically takes place over 2 days and then your line manager will provide you with your rota.
